Effective file browser with plugins
- Plugins increase functionality
- Design is rather dull
Y-Browser is a versatile file browser for Symbian phones that's functional design allows for effective and easy use. Not only can you copy, edit or delete files simply but with an additional plugin the software suddenly offers further features such as a ZIP manager and text viewer.
On first appearance, Y-Browser looks as though it has taken its inspiration from Windows Explorer, which is no bad thing as if people are used to it they will automatically feel more comfortable with the interface. Navigation is simple between drives and listings and, probably best of all, there are plenty of shortcuts for basic operations meaning access is fast and you don't get lost within folders. Also the search function is well-designed so you can filter archives by name and type. Y-Browser is a very thorough, easy to use and effective file manager but it's the plugins and extras that make this a very good alternative to the free FExplorer.
